Bill Word began producing the Orange County's Funniest Person Contest™ in 2002. What began as another vehicle to promote Orange County comedy and feature some of the funniest comedians in the area today, has become a contest that decides each year who is Orange County's Funniest™.  The contest has been featured on NBC, PBS, Public Radio and the front page of the Orange County Register.   The list of comedic competitors have television credits which include NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, The Tonight Show and Oprah!

Tim Shaw wins the seventh annual OC's Funniest Person Contest™ on Saturday, November 7, 2008.  Aristotle Athiras finishes second, Jonny Loquasto placed third and Randy Simmons was fourth place.
