Bill Word began producing the Orange County's Funniest Person Contest™ in 2002. What began as another vehicle to promote Orange County comedy and feature some of the funniest comedians in the area today, has become a contest that decides each year who is Orange County's Funniest™.  The contest has been featured on NBC, PBS, Public Radio and the front page of the Orange County Register.   The list of comedic competitors have television credits which include NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, The Tonight Show and Oprah!

Christopher Heard wins the sixth annual OC's Funniest Person Contest™ on Saturday, October 20, 2007.  Stephen Halasz finishes second, Lauri Roggenkamp placed third and Peter Dautel was fourth place.
